4 Fringe Science Books to Advance Your Occultism

“The evolution of our self-concept is the true initiatory path of the occult.”

Today we take a deeper and we look a little bit of some of the science, albeit fringe science, that is out there on the subject. And these are some of my favorite on the subject. I’m going to tell you why I think that they’re important for you. What are the core ideas from them that you want to consider when you’re looking into it?

What Are These Books About?

There is quite a bit of some bias here to Dr. Joe Dispenza, as in three of these four books is all out of his work. And let me tell you why that is. I first discovered Doctor Joe’s work, not through his current publications, but back in the day when he was still a member of the Rumford School of Enlightenment.

Now, for any of you that’s not familiar with Rumford, Rumford is called it or claims himself to be a 35,000 year old entity that channels through a woman called Jessie Knight in the Rumford school. Now, there in all transparency, there was some kind of controversy around them, but this was related to the initial members and the one pretty much being offended by being called out on stage.

And I do agree that some of that wasn’t necessarily right. But let me kind of caveat this with an important thing that I think people tend to forget. Jessie Knight is a medium at the end of the day, same as any classic spiritualist medium. And even though a spiritualist medium can access a different artificial or sorry higher intelligence to come through their body.

This doesn’t completely negate the ego of the individual. And whenever we do work with mediums of any caliber or sort, we must recognize that there is still components in their own persona. I personally do not like a lot of her views on sexuality, or how that was brought through in the school. However, the ideas and technology and science that came through Ram for are undisputable.

The school itself was investigated by scientists and many times offered scientists to come in and actually do experiments on them, and they could very clearly tell that something goes into her body. There’s a complete change in her identity or her whole being. When Rumford does channel and through the years you could see these manifestations. The school has also made me many interesting claims, but no one is as famous or is known from the school as Dr. Dispenza.

He furthered his own work and decided to focus more on the scientific, and this is really the basis of his earlier work. And this is why I kind of like to start with this book. Over here on the far side. You are the placebo. You are the placebo, I think is one of those core essentials, because he gives us everything from brain scans to the latest research to help us understand this idea of how some people are able to cure themselves of complete and vicious diseases by recognizing this concept of the placebo.

But he takes the placebo idea a little bit further. For those of you not familiar with the idea of a placebo, it is simply the concept that when a control group of people are given a sugar pill and another group of people are given the medicine pill to see which ones are having the effect, is it really the medicine, or is it their own psychology that’s producing this?

Now, there have been interesting results where people of their own psychology would literally produce the cure within their own body. He has some great examples on his YouTube channel, where you can see hundreds of thousands of people that have cured themselves from cancers and from all kinds of, you know, in terminal diseases, using his methods of meditation and psychology.

Now, this, I think, is more important because my premise of occultism is that art evolution and development spiritually is the evolution of our self-concept. As we start to dis attach or disassociate or stop identifying ourselves with people, places, times, things, and events and we start to redefine self, that thing creates an entire spectrum of possibilities, which is what the initiatory process facilitates.

This is quite coincidental because these are the very same associative processes Doctor Joe speaks about and how we create this hallucination of our self, which is why his second book is definitely in here for me as well. Breaking the habit of being yourself gives us the idea of how not just at intellectual level, but this core fundamental identity is literally what’s keeping us trapped.

And how do we shift from that? This is core, especially if you’re in a cult. Then you’re in magic, because that’s the thing that’s going to keep getting fractured and shifted as you progress through these stages. And the better you understand this, the more at ease you are going to be as you transition through those stages. So these two pieces or these two books definitely are a cornerstone.

I think everybody should understand them because here it helps to break free from that habit, seeing that self is at the core of our reality. And here it literally breaks down some examples of how the mind physically produces the biochemistry of disease and the biochemistry of health, as well as how that then impacts our physical reality. So understanding that core science, I think, is crucial for the upcoming ad, if not to take that to a bit of another level, I have Dr. Joe’s Becoming Supernatural as another recommendation, but one of the other ones that I have in there, and he’s been a guest on the show Dr. Bruce Bynum’s Dark Light Consciousness was one of those golden triggers for me, because what he does at this point is he takes this entire subject matter a little bit further, further, as a psychiatrist himself. And he explores this brain chemistry and explores an idea of neuro melanin. He looks at everything from the same studies that Dr. Master Mankiw does in the Daoist Institute, or the study group where he looks at, for example, where students are taken into the dark or dark room meditations for extended period of time, and how, when the neural melanin begins to activate, how the relationship it has of the DMT molecule and how these initiates more, these practitioners suddenly see light inside of this darkness and everything becomes illuminated.

It’s a nice entrance step into the concept of altered states of consciousness, bringing together some of the scientific research, but also then stepping it out and looking at the yogic ideas in practice. So this is a nice, progressive way for you to logically begin to transition to making up a lot of these insights. My final one then obviously ends again with Dr. Dispenza’s Becoming Supernatural.

Becoming Supernatural is really the point where where he starts to step away from just conventional scientific thinking and then opens us up to an entire new spectrum. Now, he does give the research. Dr. Joe works very closely with the Heart Math Institute and several others, so that they measure the rooms ions to the effects on the practitioners, every single detail.

And he shares all that scientific data inside of this work along with his others. What’s very interesting for us in this one is how he starts to bring a new paradigm towards the chakras. Many people talk about the chakras in very philosophical ways. What he here does is he actually begins to identify the structure glandular systems around the chakras having similar characteristics as brains as their own independent brains.

In fact, this is something that we start to explore even in our science today. There’s been books for ages now, talking about the second brain or the gut brain, which has been the primary focus in eastern medicine, where we oftentimes have this philosophy that at the initial development of the fetus, that it splits, and we get the development of the central nervous system, which is what we’re most focused on in the Western philosophies and medicine, in tradition and in the eastern system, that was more focused on the inferior nervous system, also known as the second brain or gut brain.

What the paradigm here is, is that it’s not just our main brain, so to speak. That’s the common ruler of them all. But there are these other brains correlating to the chakras. And there’s real research in this interesting evidence around this. It’s from this that he’s birthed his meditation technique known as the, blessing of the saving spirits.

But the exploration now, you obviously can’t see too much the details in this, but he looks directly at the activity of the chakras. He looks at how they’re re-alignment in terms of the graphics based upon the effects of the method, the output in terms of frequency where they are measured with modern equipment and solutions, which I believe is one of the core reasons that this should be something inside of your basis.

I thoroughly believe that one of the biggest challenges for magicians is the magician component. You would have known if you’ve listened to my my philosophy on the missing elements that I do believe with the work of many of the other greats, that states that there are these four fundamental aspects of our psychology. We’ve seen this in the occult point of view of the earth, of the air, the fire in the water, known very often as the magician, the lover of the king in the warrior archetype.

In psychology, many get purely focused on one of these aspects, and they don’t cultivate the others. And I feel the same is true of our approach to magic. If we simply go into the lover aspect, we simply go into the creative understanding, the beauty, the witchcraft, the magic and everything like that. That’s great for a period of time, but at some point it becomes imbalanced unless it’s balanced with the magician, the real data, the real research, the real source science, the psychology and the science.

How does this actually support this artistic, creative expression of the infinite unconscious? And then the next one, how does that thing kind of come in and ground itself in terms of actual doable things? How are we measuring this against results versus coming into the religious bias? Because that makes us no better than the right hand path, that people that just accept things on faith and don’t want to test themselves.

Occultism is about testing our results and constantly growing. That means testing us. And then the final step is the ownership, right? Owning that. So if you do not own your data, if you don’t own your ideas, if you don’t challenge them, they will never create change in you. And I’m left with a great idea from an old friend of mine, Mark Steinberg, head of the Creative Consciousness International Studio.

He said new knowledge is like a splinter. If you simply take it in, very shortly your body will alienate it. It’ll get rid of that the same way it gets rid of the splinter after a while. Unless you start to question your reality, unless you take your existing knowns and you evolve that you’re never going to make the neurological shift.

I’m also reminded that one of the correlations in the Kabbalah that in Bina is where we find the Shekinah, the Holy Spirit. The more accurate translation then would be, for Holy Spirit would be the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Holy Understanding. What is your fundamental understanding? Not simply your belief? What is your fundamental understanding of reality because that determines your capacity or your range inside of reality.
